Icarus

6x4" enamel on copper with acrylic and copper wire mesh. Daedalus and Icarus escaped from the Minataur's maze by building wings and flying like birds. Daedalus warned his son not to fly too high, lest the sun melt the wax that was holding the wings together. But alas, Icarus was so swept away in the joy of flight, that he rose higher and higher, until the wax did melt and he fell to the sea. Available.
